Replacing Probe Extractor Seals

Replacing Probe Extractor Seals

The extractor assembly* probe seal uses a set of interlocking packing seals and a compression nut that should only require hand tightening. If a leak is observed around the probe, further hand tightening may be required, however over tightening of the compression nut using wrenches may damage the seals. If the leak cannot be stopped, the packing seals should be replaced. The following procedure illustrates how to replace the packing seals. Replacement seals are PN 45096-00001. *When inserting the probe with the extractor assembly always be careful not to insert too deeply, causing damage to the probe tip. A collar type “stop” may be added to the probe or lead screws to prevent over-insertion.
