Our GUIDED WAVE™ NIR-UV-VIS process analyzer spectrometers offer remote multichannel extended range near-infrared (1000-2100nm) spectroscopic analysis. They provide excellent signal-to-noise ratio, wavelength stability, NIST traceable wavelength calibration, dual beam optics and built-in diagnostics. Process engineers, operators, and researchers will appreciate their ability to monitor up to 12 process streams or sample interface points within a stream with accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.   

WHY NIR SPECTROSCOPY IS BETTER THAN GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY?

Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is a non-destructive technique that can provide fast, accurate results of process conditions. NIR Spectroscopy is able to achieve real-time monitoring of multiple constituents in the process by illuminating the sample with light and analyzing how the light interacts with the sample.  Spectroscopy achieves this without the high maintenance costs or the extensive upkeep considerations typically associated with gas chromatography (GC). Additionally, optical technology often eliminates the costly sample systems and fast loops needed for process gas chromatography.

Traditionally, absorption spectroscopy has been used in laboratories to perform precise analyses. For production environments, a very robust portion of the electromagnetic spectrum—UV/Vis/NIR—emerged for process analytics.

    Using a broad spectral region from the near-infrared to the mid-infrared, our ANALECT® Series of FTIR/FT-NIR analyzers measure physical and chemical properties of liquids, solids and gases.  They are ideal for complex refinery applications such as fuels blending and component streams applications for polymers, petrochemicals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals in addition to general manufacturing.

    • Fully automated system provides reproducible spectra of crudes under reproducible sampling conditions with only 20ml of sample.
    • Auto qualifies according to ASTM D6122
    • Unattended auto sampling technique for up to 24 samples preserves sample integrity and measures crudes from 8 to 80 API at typical operating conditions.
    • Heated enclosure maintains samples at fixed temperature (up to 120°C)
