Total Sulfur-Nitrogen Lab & Process Analyzers
High-Performance Online Lab & Elemental Analyzers
ATOM Instrument™ was founded in 1962 and then acquired by Process Insights in 2019.
ATOM Instrument is now our line of laboratory and online elemental analyzers for total sulfur-nitrogen applications in liquids, solids and gases, manufactured in our Houston, TX facility.
Our ATOM analyzers deliver innovative measurement solutions for the petroleum, petrochemical and pipeline industries. We are the leaders in process analyzers for measuring total sulfur – total nitrogen in liquids, solids and gases. Through our constant research and development work, we know the challenges to make reliable measurements. All of our ATOM analyzers include the Excimer UV Fluorescence Technology, a patented and proprietary technology. This technology provides high reliability and confidence of analytical results, reduces operational and maintenance costs, meets today’s emission standards, and delivers outstanding analytical performance to meet the challenges of future emission requirements.
All of our ATOM analyzers utilize Oxidative Combustion to oxidize Molecular-Bound Sulfur and Nitrogen to Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) and Nitric Oxide (NO).
They are compliant with: D5453 – Standard Test Method for Determination of Total Sulfur in Light Hydrocarbons, Spark Ignition Engine Fuel, Diesel Engine Fuel, and Engine Oil by Ultraviolet Fluorescence, D7183 – Standard Test Method for Determination of Total Sulfur in Aromatic Hydrocarbons and Related Chemicals by Ultraviolet Fluorescence, D7551 – Standard Test Method for Determination of Total Volatile Sulfur in Gaseous Hydrocarbons and Liquefied Petroleum Gases and Natural Gas by Ultraviolet Fluorescence (Process Version of ASTM D6667), D4629 – Standard Test Method for Trace Nitrogen in Liquid Hydrocarbons by Syringe/Inlet Oxidative Combustion and Chemiluminescence Detection, and D6667 – Standard Test Method for Determination of Total Volatile Sulfur in Gaseous Hydrocarbons and Liquefied Petroleum Gases by Ultraviolet Fluorescence.
