ANALECT
MGA™ was acquired by Applied Instrument Technologies (AIT) in a deal that was announced on September 1, 2015. At the time, AIT was introducing the ANALECT RefinIR analyzer, a fully integrated laboratory auto-sampler and FTIR instrument designed for the refining industry. It was then acquired by Process Insights in June 2022.
The MGA fixed magnet mass spectrometer represents a significant advancement in gas analysis technology. This analytical instrument utilizes a fixed magnet design, which provides enhanced stability and reliability compared to traditional quadrupole or time-of-flight mass spectrometers. By incorporating a permanent magnet, the MGA achieves higher precision and accuracy in detecting and quantifying gas species.
The MGA’s fixed magnet design enables the instrument to operate at higher magnetic fields, resulting in improved mass resolution and sensitivity. This allows for the detection of trace gas components and the ability to distinguish between closely related gas species. Additionally, the MGA’s compact design and reduced power consumption make it an ideal solution for laboratory, industrial, and field-based applications.
One of the key benefits of the MGA fixed magnet mass spectrometer is its ability to provide real-time gas analysis. This enables researchers, scientists, and industrial professionals to monitor and respond to changing gas compositions quickly. The MGA is particularly suited for applications such as environmental monitoring (e.g., air quality, greenhouse gas emissions), industrial process control (e.g., semiconductor manufacturing, chemical processing), and research (e.g., atmospheric science, materials science).
