PROVIDING INNOVATIVE MEASUREMENT SOLUTIONS

AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY

Delivering Safety & Process Monitoring Solutions, You Can Trust

Gas analyzers and instrumentation play a crucial role in the agriculture industry, serving various purposes such as monitoring and controlling environmental conditions in greenhouses and agricultural settings, assessing the quality of agricultural products, and identifying and addressing potential health and safety risks.

In the realm of agriculture, gas analyzers are particularly valuable for overseeing and managing environmental conditions within greenhouses. Precise control of factors like temperature, humidity, and gas concentrations is vital for promoting optimal plant growth and health. For instance, maintaining appropriate levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) is essential for facilitating photosynthesis, leading to improved plant growth and increased yields. Reliable and accurate gas analyzers are indispensable tools for measuring and regulating these environmental parameters, ensuring the well-being and optimal development of plants.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY

Our analytical instrumentation plays a critical role in the agriculture industry, helping to support the development of safe and sustainable agricultural practices, enhance crop yields, and improve animal health and welfare.

  • FERMENTATION & BIOREACTOR

Monitoring the process in fermentation and bioreactor operations is important.  Our MGA® 1200CS fixed magnetic sector mass spectrometer delivers fast and accurate analysis for control parameters such as Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR) and Carbon Dioxide Evolution Rate (CER).  Another option is our EXTREL™ MAX300-BIO™ bioreactor monitor gas analyzer that uses cutting edge quadrupole mass spectrometer technology to quantify bioreactor gases from multiple reactors within the facility and reports the data to the control system in real-time.   It ensures that the optimal growth and health of the cells by monitoring and controlling the gas composition within the bioreactor.

  • PROCESS WATER, PURE WATER & WASTEWATER

The agriculture industry closely monitors water quality for a variety of reasons. Water is a critical resource for agriculture, and is used for irrigation, livestock watering, and other agricultural purposes. Therefore, ensuring that the water is of sufficient quality is essential to the health of plants and animals, and the overall productivity of the agricultural system.

Monitoring total organic carbon (TOC) in the agricultural production process is important for several reasons. TOC analysis provides valuable insights into the organic matter content in soil, irrigation water, and fertilizers, which directly impacts crop health and productivity.

Our LAR™ online water analyzers are crucial tools for the agriculture industry to optimize processes, ensure regulatory compliance, detect contaminants, manage water resources efficiently, maintain process safety, and plan preventive maintenance. These analyzers provide real-time data that enables informed decision-making and helps chemical manufacturers achieve their production goals effectively.

    OTHER WATER APPLICATIONS

  • MOISTURE CONTROL

Moisture control monitoring is important in agricultural production because it affects the quality and yield of crops.  Our COSA XENTAUR™ HDT™ Dew Point Transmitter is designed for continuous monitoring of dew point in compressed air systems and other industrial applications. It features a rugged design and high accuracy measurement capabilities, making it suitable for use in harsh environments such as grain storage facilities.

  • AMMONIA FERTILIZER

Our gas analyzers are used in ammonia fertilizer manufacturing for several reasons, including safety, quality control, and efficiency.  Our TIGER OPTICS™ HALO gas analyzer is a multi-species gas analyzer that uses CRDS to detect trace levels of moisture, methane, and other gases in gas streams. It can be used for process control in the ammonia manufacturing process, as well as for environmental compliance monitoring in emissions and ambient air.

Also our Prismatic™ 3 gas analyzer is a trace gas analyzer that uses CRDS to detect trace levels of ammonia and other gases in gas streams. It can be used for process control and quality control in the ammonia manufacturing process, as well as for environmental compliance monitoring in emissions and ambient air.

  • STERILIZATION & VIRUS DEACTIVATION

The agriculture industry uses sterilization and virus deactivation methods to control the spread of disease and pathogens in plants and animals, and to maintain product quality and safety. Our GUIDED WAVE™ dual beam photometer for real-time hydrogen peroxide vapor sterilant gas monitoring delivers with near-infrared (NIR) filter photometer for H2O2 and H2O vapor mixtures.

  • CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE & GLOVEBOX

The agriculture industry uses controlled atmosphere and glovebox technology to control the environmental conditions in which crops are grown and harvested, as well as to store and transport agricultural products.  Controlled atmosphere and glovebox environments are designed to have low oxygen levels to maintain an oxygen-free or oxygen-reduced environment for specific applications, such as in research and development, manufacturing, and storage of sensitive materials.

Our ALPHA OMEGA INSTRUMENTS™ Series 1300™ oxygen analyzer is designed to operate in low-oxygen environments and provides fast and accurate oxygen measurements, making it a suitable choice for use in controlled atmosphere and glovebox environments.

  • GRAIN STORAGE & SEED DRYING PROCESS

Chilled mirror dew point gas analyzers, such as our MBW™ MODEL 473™ are commonly used in the grain storage and seed drying process to measure and monitor moisture content. In the grain storage process, the analyzer is used to measure the dew point temperature of the air in the storage bin. If the temperature is too high, it indicates that there is too much moisture in the grain and that spoilage may occur. In the seed drying process, the analyzer is used to measure the moisture content of the seeds during the drying process.

  • INSTRUMENT AIR AND DRYERS, AND SPOT CHECKING

Continuously measuring moisture instrument air and dryers, as well as performing spot checking, is important in the agriculture process for several reasons. Accurate and reliable measurement of moisture content is critical to ensuring the quality and safety of agricultural products. Moisture can promote the growth of bacteria and fungi, which can produce harmful toxins that can be dangerous to humans and animals.

Our COSA XENTAUR™ XPDM™ is a portable dew point meter that is well-suited for spot moisture checks in agricultural applications. It works by measuring the dew point temperature of a gas sample and converting it into a moisture content reading. The XPDM is lightweight and easy to use, making it a convenient tool for field measurements.
