High Precision Chilled Mirror Hygrometry for Laboratory & Industrial Applications

Our MBW CALIBRATION™ Precise Humidity Measurement and Calibration Systems Technology provides highly precise, stable, and repeatable results. We provide consultancy services to anyone who needs answers or solutions within the humidity field. We know the humidity market in great depth and have direct experience with almost every type of measurement instrument or humidity generator, both in terms of performance and application.  We are able to photograph and video condensation formation on the chilled mirrors in our transfer standard mirrors. This has enabled us to solve issues where interference effects have increased measurement uncertainties in certain scenarios.  Our in-house research laboratory is equipped with humidity and temperature generation equipment that compares with the very best laboratories around the world, so we are able to replicate operational conditions that mirror our customers activity.

Explore the many international industry organizations that participate in to improve measurement performance, technical understanding, standards and guides.

As the Swiss Designated Institute (DI) for hygrometry, we have the responsibility for maintaining and improving the standards for humidity in Switzerland.  To achieve this, we continually improve methods of calibration by implementing new techniques to extend our range of capability and improve our published CMC (Calibration and Measurement Capability). Our SCS accredited 17025 calibration laboratory meets the most stringent requirements of quality, systems, accredited calibration and validation schemes.  Our 17025 calibration uncertainties are comparable with the best laboratories within the International Metrology community. We have implemented Primary Realizations for low and high range humidity generation (based on temperature and pressure) resulting in CMCs that compare favorably with the leading National Metrology Institutes worldwide.  Our CMC can be viewed here and at the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS) website.  As an accredited provider, our MBW CALIBRATION is regularly audited by external technical and quality assessors who regularly compare calibration with other NMIs or DIs.

Calibration is at the core of what we do. Our MBW CALIBRATION chilled mirror dew point mirrors are used for the calibration of the relative humidity and dew point sensors that are so widely applied in today’s commercial applications. We are proud to supply almost every humidity instrument manufacturer with the high-performance transfer standards they need in their own production and calibration departments.  We frequently participate in bi-lateral comparisons, and we have provided the equipment for most of International Key Comparisons over the last 15 years.

Humidity research is what drives our company. Being at the forefront of the humidity measurement industry means that we must continually innovate to improve the performance and working range of our equipment. Our technical leadership have a combined experience of more than sixty years in the development of humidity measurement and generation equipment. They are backed up by a team of specialist development engineers with a broad knowledge base in technologies such as metrology, electronics, software and materials science.

We Are Leaders in CALIBRATION, Research & STANDARDS

NATIONAL METROLOGY INSTITUTES

MBW chilled mirror analyzers are most commonly used as the transfer standard to maintain traceability.  As a Swiss Designated Institute for Hygrometry (DI), we participate in different activities, working groups, committees etc. related to metrology.

ISO17025 Certified CALIBRATION LABORATORY

We perform humidity calibration and MBW is ISO17025 certified.  We are leaders in humidity standards. Our chilled mirror analyzers provide long-term stability to achieve lower uncertainty of calibration (CMC) levels.

EURAMET ASSOCIATE MEMBER

MBW is an active associate of EURAMET. EURAMET is responsible for the execution of the European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP) whose mission is to develop and disseminate an integrated, cost-effective and internationally competitive measurement infrastructure for Europe.

TC-T TECHNICAL COMMITTEE FOR THERMOMETRY

MBW is allowed to participate in metrology measurement standards for:

  • Temperature
  • Humidity and moisture
  • Thermophysical quantities of materials
  • Scales & reference materials

TC-Q TECHNICAL COMMITTEE FOR QUALITY

MBW is an associate and is allowed to participate:

  • To develop knowledge on ISO/IEC 17025
  • Implementation in the National Metrology Institutes (NMIs)
